Video Blog - Quality Systems Toolbox Updates

April 16, 2010

A video blog regarding recent changes in our ISO9001 Quality Management System

QST - 2010 April Update from Darcy Clark on Vimeo.

Welcome to the first of what we hope will be a series of semi-regular, probably monthly, updates on new features and improvements to our ISO9001 software suite, the Quality Systems Toolbox.

First up, we have completely refactored all our graphical PDF reports using Google's Chart API. As such we think our reports are now better looking in general. We've also visually updated what used to be called "tabular reports" - now more accurately labelled as "pdf reports".

No new reports have been added, but we also now have a much better way of generating reports that will make it very easy for us to add new reports in the future. We'd particularly like to hear from our users for ideas for new reports. Please contact us via the website or via support@qualitysystems.com if you have an ideas or comments on reports.

Secondly, we've added a completely new feature to the homepage to enhance visibility and communication within your quality systems - the Recent Activity Log. This page allows you to quickly survey recent changes within your QMS - basically each line item shows who did what to which item and when. A link to the item in question is also provided. This page will generally be the first users will see after they login. We think this will be a particularly useful for the Quality Manager in your company or organisation, enabling them to quickly survey changes and updates in the system from a central location. You can change the period over which to review changes using the provided dropdown selection box.

Finally a notice about some upcoming changes. We've noticed that not a lot of our customers are using the Task Manager - we are currently considering removing this feature from our system in the interest of keeping it as "Lean" as possible. We are also working on a new process mapping feature which will allow your Quality Manager to add and update process maps within the QST, basically simplifying the process of process mapping and avoiding the need for unweildy tools just as Visio. If you have any comments about these upcoming changes, please contact us via the website or via email at support@qualitysystems.com.

Thank you for your time.
